Murdoch Veterinary Clinic Staff

Dr. Christine Murdoch - WCVM ‘88

Dr. Murdoch graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) in Saskatoon in 1988. A few years after graduation, she started a mobile clinic and worked out of her truck. In 1993 she built her own small/large animal facility on Gunn Road. Dr. Murdoch used to jump horses competitively and still rides when time permits. She plays basketball in the winter and enjoys water sports in the summer months. Family is very important to Dr. Murdoch and she takes great pleasure in spending time with her husband and princess-loving daughter.

Dr. Barb Veale, Locum

Dr. Veale began locum work for us in 2008. She resides in Smithers BC and runs her own practice called Aldermere Veterinary House Calls. She practices both Eastern (acupuncture and Chinese herbal formulas) and Western medicine. In her spare time she enjoys skiing, hiking, stained glass and horseback riding and has recently ridden into the Spatsizi Wilderness area with her horse Siobhan and dog Shae. Dr. Veale grew up in Richmond and graduated from WCVM in 1987.

Kelly-Anne H - Office Manager

Kelly-Anne grew up in Vernon and Lumby. In 1996 she moved to PG to be closer to family and continue her education. After studying psychology in 97-98 at CNC, she changed paths and later received her Diploma in Management & Marketing. Kelly-Anne owns a home on 5 acres and raises her 15yr old sister, along with 4 Quarter Horses and 2 Pit Bulls! She has a passion for natural horsemanship and unreservedly loves animals. She joined our team in the fall of 07.

Kelly M – Registered Animal Health Technician

Kelly has been with our team since 1998, after receiving her diploma in Animal Health Technology. She lives with her husband and brilliant young daughter. They have a freakishly large lab named Jet. Kelly enjoys hiking and gardening and providing her colleagues with tasty, unique recipes!

Kristy J –Registered Animal Health Technician

Kristy was born and raised in PG. In 2007 she ventured further than she has ever gone from home to Knoxville Tennessee to take part in several intense courses on canine rehabilitation. She has a true passion for helping animals. Kristy enjoys fishing, camping, reading and movies. She recently purchased her own home and lives with her rambunctious dog and grouchy cat. They both bring a lot of happiness and laughter to her life. She has been with the team since the spring of 06.

Joanna H - Registered Animal Health Technician

Joanna joined us in September 2010. She grew up east of Calgary in a little place called Langdon. She recently moved to BC to be closer to her fiance. The equine industry and large animal work are her passion. Joanna graduated as a Registered Technician in 2009 and has widely studied equine dentistry (in Alberta). Joanna is also very passionate about canine and equine artificial insemination and brings with her plenty of skill and experience in both areas.

Kelly M – Registered Animal Health Technician

Chandra M - Administrative Assistant

Chandra joined us in October 09. Chandra grew up in PG and has had horses since she was 12. She was involved in 4H and numerous sports growing up. She has been a volunteer firefighter with Red Rock/Stoner VFD since 2000. She met Tyson in 2004 and they purchased a home with 5 acres where they enjoy their 2 dogs, 2 cats and of course, at least 1 horse! Chandra took an Office Admin course in 2007 and finally found a lasting career at Murdoch Vet Clinic.

Shannon C – Administrative Assistant

Shannon grew up in PG and has two children, Megan and Liam. They have 2 dogs, 3 cats and 3 horses. Shannon has a unique ability to make those around her smile. She is passionate about her work and very dedicated to our clients and her colleagues. Shannon has been part of our team since the summer of 04.

Jena H - Veterinary & Administrative

Assistant Jena joined us in October 2010. She grew up in Prince George and although she has ventured to other cities, PG has won her over and she returned in 2010 to be closer to friends and family. She enjoys movies, snowboarding, reading and cooking. Jena went to the Centre for Arts & Technology in Kelowna BC and graduated with a Veterinary Hospital Assistant Certificate in 2009. She has 2 dogs and 2cats

Kacie H – Veterinary Assistant

Kacie grew up on a hobby farm in Mission and was involved with local 4H for many years. She moved to PG in 01 to attend UNBC and received her BSc in 04. Kacie has been a part of our team since just shortly after graduation. She will be returning to school next year and changing career paths.

Kayden H - Kennel Attendant

Kayden goes to PGSS and has been a Principal’s List student since 06. She has been with our team since the fall of 07. Kayden lives in the country, has 3 Quarter horses and 2 Pit Bulls. She deeply loves animals and practices natural horsemanship. She enjoys horseback riding, math, playing SingStar, hanging with friends, babysitting, housesitting, dogsitting and riding/driving anything fast.

Sheldon G - Kennel Attendant and Volunteer

Sheldon aspires to be a veterinarian and has been volunteering at the clinic since June 09. He loves volleyball and horseback riding.
